For 53 years the High Point Baptist Camp Meeting has been an oasis for the weary saint. Some of the greatest preachers in America have delivered the Word of God under the tabernacle.
Many lost souls have been saved and many of God's people have been refreshed as the Spirit of God moved.
The touch of God is still real and the God of heaven and earth is able to breathe on His people in these last days.
The High Point Baptist Camp Meeting held its first services in 1969. A group of local pastors had a burden to start a camp meeting in the High Point area. They contacted Bro. Carl Lackey (pastor of White Plains Baptist Church in Mount Airy N.C.) and asked if he would set up his tent.
The first meeting was held in 1969. Bro. Carl preached both weeks. Bro. Carl's tent was used for the first four years. The land on Hayworth Springs Rd. in Jamestown, was purchased and the tabernacle was built in 1973. Bi-laws and articles of incorporation for "HIGH POINT BAPTIST CAMP MEETING GROUND INC." were drawn up on December 1, 1972.
